The documentary primarily revolves around Apex, the in-game leader of Team Vitality, previously known for his exceptional entry role skills, Apex now faces a significant challenge. Plagued by doubts and skeptics for years, he embarks on a journey to prove his worth as a leader and mastermind. “Live to Win” delves into Apex’s emotional struggles and his evolution as a leader, culminating in an awe-inspiring triumph that solidifies his position as one of the greats.
Alongside Apex, we follow the charismatic IGL of Heroic, Cadian. Widely favoured to win the Major, Cadian carries immense pressure. However, they face unexpected challenges as we follow the trials and tribulations that he and his team endure. Shedding light on the often unpredictable nature of esports and the resilience these players need to keep fighting.
“Live to Win” also shines a spotlight on Cypher, the exceptional Rifler of Into The Breach, the first and only UK team to qualify for any CS:GO Major. Cypher’s remarkable skills and determination are showcased as the team defies expectations throughout the championship. Through Cypher’s perspective, the film highlights the passion and dedication that drives players to overcome obstacles and compete at the highest level in the global esports arena.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY – JACQUES LOCKWOOD
Hailing from Somerset and currently residing in the bustling heart of London, Jac has forged a strong career path in the world of unscripted TV. His journey began humbly, growing up in a quiet Somerset town with limited expectations. After navigating his way through college, he eventually found his way to the world of film while studying at Falmouth University.
The early years were marked by minimal job opportunities, outside of making coffee and distant dreams of filmmaking. However, Jac’s determination never wavered. He persevered through stints in coffee shops and manual labouring until an opportunity emerged in unscripted TV in 2017. This marked the pivotal turning point on his path to becoming the filmmaker he is today.
In 2019, Jac ventured into the dynamic world of esports, where he produced the acclaimed BBC documentary ‘Fight for First.’ His journey continued with the creation of captivating branded content for renowned companies such as BLAST, Google, and the World Economic Forum. Returning to the BBC, Jac produced ‘Game and Glory,’ a groundbreaking esports documentary that earned the prestigious Broadcast award for ‘Best Content Partnership.’ This success served as a stepping stone for his latest venture, ‘Live to Win,’ where he takes the helm as both Producer and Director.
Jac’s unique and compelling storytelling abilities, combined with years of dedication to his craft, have solidified his position as an emerging talent in the world of filmmaking.
